Cute toy

I got this product to try for free from influenster and Hasbro in exchange for my honest review. I have always liked transformers and was hoping my little one would like it as well. He loves how it goes back and forth transforming. This toy is small and easy to take with him and play with. I'm not sure how this toy is going to hold up in the long run but for now it's nice. I don't think I would purchase another toy like it but I would recommend it for smaller kiddos.

Great for Kids - Confusing for Adults

This toy is a great idea for Transformers! Since it does not come with any written instructions it did take a minute to figure out how it worked....but I'm guessing my 5 year old nephew won't have any issues 😂 The package messaging of "smash to change" makes it feel like you need to be rougher with the toy than actually necessary to get it to change.

Great little toy

Fun little toy that is very easy to operate. I think that this would be a very good toy for a child as the parent is trying to shop in store as the value is great. Not to expensive and fun for the child. Seems very durable as my child was banging it all around.

Good size for kids 3 years and up. Very easy to transform. Unfortunately this specific one Optimus Prime (not sure the others) won’t complete shut and stay when you are trying to transform it in the truck. Although $10 is not much for a toy this is more of a dollar store toy in my opinion.

I gave this product to my son. He’s five. he absolutely loves it. He’s able to transform it on his own, which is a plus because we’ve had others which he can’t do on his own and frankly, I can’t really either.

This was a dud AT FIRST! Once we realized how it works, it was a 10/10 stars for my 7 year old toy maniac! This little guy is so fun, and the perfect size to throw in my purse and take out at a restaurant in a pinch! Well def be getting the rest of these!

Won’t stay closed

The toy itself looks pretty cool but my only gripe is in truck form it doesn’t line up very well. Unfortunately the front is very offset and doesn’t stay closed. It’s kinda thin plastic for the truck part but it still rolls.

Great toy, terrible figure. These days Transformers tend to fit into 1 of 2 categories, a posable action figure that happens to transform or a gimmicky toy that transforms but is terrible to pose. Smash Changer Optimus Prime fits firmly in the second category. Truck mode is some weird fire/utility truck from Mad Max. I'm curious if this mode actually appears in the film Rise of the Beasts. Really chunky with 8 wheels, but be aware the inside 4 wheels are moulded and do not roll. The rolling wheels are clip ons and don't roll particularly well either if I'm honest. Contrary to my initial impression, you don't smash it 3 times to trigger the conversion, you press a button on the top twice to trigger the 1st two stages, THEN smash it to trigger the last step. Weirdly satisfying, but I suppose that depends on how much you like spring loaded toys. Robot mode is what it is, with virtually no posability to speak of. His elbows bend but that's a side effect of part of his conversion as opposed to a deliberate choice. Nothing else moves. As spring loaded self converting gimmicks go, the 'smash' method is better than the Roll n' Change Optimus Prime from the Cyberverse line. Unfortunately the first one I bought had a problem where the first button press would trigger half of stage 1 and half of stage 2. Considering it's over 30 I would want this aspect to work properly. Looking at it closely there are 2 triangular hooks behind his head (viewable in package, just fold his head forward a bit) and mine were different sizes. I exchanged it for another Smash Changer Optimus (checking the hooks are the same size) and this one works fine.
